OK, here's the dilema:

New Woodruff key for 4* ignition advance £18. Fitted at the suppliers, a further £12 Thumbs Up Getting to Bristol for fitting, 200 mile trip, £12 petrol, 5 hours riding. Fitting myself, need a rotor puller ~£35-£40. Ask a local dealer to fit, God only knows what they would charge, probably around £40.

So I can ride down to Bristol and have it fitted (and pick up some front preload caps at the same time) for the least amount of money but the most amount of time, buy a rotor puller and never use it for anything else, or get ripped off by a dealer fitting a tiny little part.

What would you do?

Got a quote from the local place - £40 per hour, and they've never done one before. Thinking That's out of the question then...

It's still a lot easier to get a dealer to do it, even if they haven't done it before. If a dealer/workshop do it and make a mistake then they have to sort it out. Plus they may do a warranty on any work they do so you are covered for a bit of time after.

If you make a mistake whilst doing it yourself such as dropping/scratching the tank (ok i know the SV is a hinge up job but you get the picture!) its up to you to open your wallet to sort it out.

i like the sound of 600's when they start up dont ask me why..they just sound so nice, i wish my rs125 sound like that...do u think its possible to buy something that makes it sound like that?? apart from buying a 600....and also apart from buying a tape and reacording a 600 starting up..

Don't really think this has anything to do with this thread, but there is nothing you can do to make your bike sound like a 600 when it starts... a 600 sounds like a 600 when fired up because the average 600 is a 4 cylinder four stroke and with a larger starter motor.....Rolling Eyes

To keep you happy (or should that be mad) visit Kawasaki's home page as they have sounds of the bikes starting up
