Well having had the displeasure of riding about on a Gilera DNA180 for the past week while my bike is being fixed I thought I may aswell share the experiences with you guys with it.

Firstly, I'll start with the bike. Its a 2003 03 Reg DNA180 with 6,100 miles on it.
First impressions it looks nicely styled, but look deeper and its very poorly built.
The finish is amazingly bad, and its covered in rust, in weird places.
The electrics are a nightmare too, accelerate and the fuel light comes on, and vice versa when you decelarate. Also the same happens with the oil light despite the oil being at the top level of the dipstick.
Its starter motor sounds like its full of shagged ball bearings and its relucatant to start.

Handling is floppy, and bouncy, but this may be down to this particular machine.

However, acceleration is great for a 4 stroke 180cc engine, and it winds up to an indicated 83MPH. Its also amazing on petrol I haven't filled it up in 150 miles and it still has 3 bars on the fuel guage.

Also the blooming self retracting sidestand is a cunt, try and put it down whilst sat on the bike and it you get your leg caught on the peg and it flicks back up, so annoying!

All in all I wouldn't recommend anyone buying one and I think Gilera should give up making them if they make them this badly!

Given your impressions of the electrics, I hope you aren't going to blindly trust that one Wink Very Happy

Shocked I can't keep up! Which bike? Are you keeping the GSX & getting the frame sorted? Did you get the Leo and break it already? Have you got something else entirely whilst I've been braving the terrors of the M25 this weekend?

Good grief, that could only happen to you.

Was this another of D&K's special offers?
