It's a very good, smart bike and an ideal big bike after you pass your test. It's so much more user friendly than the usual 400cc sports tackle, more comfortable, arguably better at touring, nearly as good handling, nearly as quick fun-package of a bike, in a cool retro style. And cheaper to insure, run, service and repair (touch wood) as there's no rare, pricey bodywork to ruin.
Got a centre stand too, plus the lack of faring makes it a doddle to work on. Don't think you could go far wrong on one of these, has got long term appeal once the restrictors are out as well.
Should be very reliable as well, the engine's derived from the CBR400 (retuned for better low down power), with gear driven cams (no maintenance) and superb Honda build quality. Large (17 odd litres I think) tank makes it a great all rounder as well.
Should nudge over a ton with the restrictors in, have a look over at 400greybike.co.uk for more info and fellow owners. |
