PASSED - No faults... Perfect! holy cow

Had my Direct Access test today and passed....
I only got no faults, perfect... Instructor said it was a nice run.
I could have kissed him....

Then it was back home, sort the insurance and just done 50miles on my ZXR400 around Leeds, Sherburn-In-Elmet (Squires cafe).
Love it,... but it is scary!
It'll take a while to get used to it.

does the zxr400 feel a lot faster than the bike you used on your test and lesson ?

was it a biggish bike for your test such as er5 or cb500 ?

Bloody hell, thought I did well just getting 4. (1 unjustified, ie bike too slow for the overtake) (But I did take my test in Halifax, were the examiner is a well renound as a git, so I still think I did well).

Don't think I got any on my car test, (years ago), had 2 examiners in the car (ie his supervisor), said I was a pleasure to drive with and wished everyone was like me.

I still tell people this story 16 years on. (ohh shit i've just told it again).

Well done.

Might c u around sometime, im often in Leeds, look out for a silver gray er5, with under tray, and a silver screen.

RESULT!

It's a great feeling when you pass isn't it? And yes, you're right, very scary at first. I passed a couple of weeks back (08/08) and was very uneasy the first couple of times I went out alone. Don't feel at all uneasy now, even rode my bike through a muddy field leaving a festival on monday morning! (More luck than skill getting it out without dropping it me thinks)

Well I've been rising a Vespa PX 125 for the last few years but never a 'foot gear change' bike before. Or anything over 200cc.
Good thing about Vespas is they don;t have any mirrors so lifesavers are the only visual check u have.
