I have a meta alarm on my bike and would like to take it off and re install it on my new bike.

How easy or hard is it to do?

To remove is it just trace the wires where they go in to the loom and remake (solder and heatshrink) the connections with out the alarm and label where each wire goes? Then re install on the new bike by soldering the wires again to where they were on the original bike.

Would it be better to get an alarm bloke to reinstall it that way I'll get an installation certificate. Do insurance companies require installation certificates?

Cheers

I was looking at mine a few months ago and I'd have done it exactly as you say - label and disconn, re-join the broken original wiring and solder/heatshrink.

There are only two 'major' connections on my loom, the rest are tee-ins to make the lights and winkers flash.

I don't think the insurance would take your word for it on the new one though Thumbs Down

I might be willing to do this for you as I need to trace the wires for a Meta alarm.

Is it a 357?

Yes it's a 357v2. Fancy two heads being better than one. Do them both at the same time?
