just got a load of photos back from yesterday, and most are crap. alot of the bike ones just turned out really bad, and im not sure why, but i did notice this one, and im very pleased with it. its my helmet, covered in bugs, with jude(nc30) behind it.

Well i like it, reminds me of the 80's for some reason, old races from that era...
if i wasn't told that that was a bike in the background i would probably have struggled a bit.. so maybe a smaller aperture (more DoF) would have made the bike more recognisabe- although i'm not sure whether the pic would still have had the same 'feel' about it..
i like it though! |

You can't really see what the picture is. Can't make out the fact its a helmet and wouldn't know for sure that was a bike if I wasn't told. Cool though. ____________________ My NSR --> https://members.boards.ie/instinct/Diagonal.jpg

do you do a lot of post processing? i've been taking photos of all sorts of stuff but they never have that sort of character straight out the camera and i'm not one for too much PP'ing.
Inspiring stuff though, now where's my camera |

all i do with any of my photos, except the ones that you can tell are photoshopped, like the ones with brushes, is maybe put a border round, brightness down a tiny bit and contrast up a tiny bit, nothing else
ill post the stock photo of both when i get my scanner working again ____________________ www.wilcollinsphoto.co.uk |

Not sure if its the monitor at work, but they look a bit dark for me.
As Kev said, the DOF on the first is too far out for me as well.
What camera are you using? I'm assuming its wet film since you've "just got them back"? ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!
