What engine oil should i use in my XJ600S Diversion??

Will standard car GTX do?

or shall i go for some Castrol 4T 10-40??

Hi

I have used car oil loads of times without problems (including in an XJ600 Diversion), but others have had problems. Seems to be down to the individual brand of oil.

Bike specific oil is probably better, but whether it is enough difference to justify the massive extra cost is another question.

Standard Castrol 4t 10W40 is GTX. Make sure to use normal Castrol GTX rather than GTX Magnatech and it should be fine.

Yep or go to Hein Gericke, buy five litres of motoul motorbike oil and get a free air and oil filter with it Thumbs Up
