Any signs of ragging it. Don't buy one with a sports exhuast or anything, it will have been thrashed. Most likely it will have some cosmetic, but that's kind of to be expected. Otherwise listen out for rattles and bumps, make ure the wheels are aligned and have no sideways movement, service history, check the chain is in good nick; if that is the chances are they're looking after it OK, if you do a search on this site you will bring up loads of crap like this. |

Check the owner as much as the bike. If they start the bike and warm it up by thrashing it, run. Quickly.
Engine is basically the same as the RS125, so the same things apply. Budget on a new piston every 10000 miles, and rings at about half that. Check for abuse from being used off road (buckled wheels, broken spokes, etc). Check for corrosion on the forks.
Otherwise just check the normal things.
All the best

If you want to derestrict it, make sure it come with a power valve, they usually do.
You can get a race exhaust. I have one and it sounds good at high revs and increases the power a little bit.
They handle really well, better than bigger bikes as they are light. They obviously dont have the power of a 600 for overtaking and going faster than 100mph.
