 |
|
Bought these winter gloves, on a reccommendation from the shop person.
Was riding 3 hours in the pouring rain yesterday. Gloves were OK for about 1/2 an hour untill they were saturated! By the time I got there, my hands were soaking! Blah blah.
Are there any gloves that are 100% waterproof or this an impossible feature? Should I take these gloves back? Doesn't sound like these were fit for use if they get soaked...
Can anyone reccommend some good winter gloves that don't let water in at all? Cheap as pos please. Chaars, Claud |

I've had my yellow alpinestars waterproof gloves for around 4 years now and they've never leaked They're not even proper winter gloves. I'd be pretty pissed off if winter gloves only lasted 30 minutes in the rain.
Just to check, you do took the gloves cuffs inside your jacket? (Cos rain can run into gloves that way). |

Gloves go out the "outside" of the cuffs.
I've tried latex gloves under my summer gloves. Thing is in winter the wet amplifies the cold, so you may have dry hands underneath, but I should imagine them being bloody cold.
Guess the search for a decent winter glove continues. Think I'll take them back. |

That could be the problem. My post wasn't very clear, but on sportsbikes if you have the cuffs outside of your jacket the rain will run down your arms into the gloves |

I have a pair of Hein Gericke Master 4 gloves. They have a double cuff, one goes inside the jacket, the other fastens round the outside of the jacket. This means water is not going to run either up your sleeve or down your glove.
They are warm, waterproof and cost 65 quid. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

For once I am actually hoping for rain, so I can test these 1 last time and sort it out. Something is wrong with me.

I bought a pair of overgloves from Hein Gericke - that way I can use normal winter gloves, cheap ones, and stay dry.
It's the same material as my water proof oversuit. Cheap as chips |
