Yep thats right turing 17 soon and am thinking about getting another scooter (automatic), I dont want this to go into a flame debate just need abit of advice. I have been on my gilera DNA 50 and have liked it very much and have though about getting the upgraded 125 dna but am also looking outside of that and was wondering if any of you fellow users could recommend and 125 automatic?

Thanks In Advance Martin

Why not go for a geared bike - would give you some experience for your bike test.

You mean you have fallen in love with automatics, the DNA doesnt look like a proper scooter, they just look stupid. Get a geared bike, faster, better looking and will get you used to gears (which arent difficult anyway) for when you want to pass your test and get a bigger bike.

A bike with gears is a lot more interesting and satisfying. It is also much safer in the wet and if it's icy, because you can feed the power on smoothly, or set off in a higher gear and keep the torque low. If you get a much more powerful gearless bike you could find it spitting you off from time to time. My brother's girlfriend fell of hers 3 times in one trip home from work when there was a little ice about late last year.

It's also possible that you think you "love your scooter" because it is all you know. Believe me If you rode around on a large motorbike for a week, your scooter would be a fading memory.

It's up to you. That's just what I think. Thumbs Up

By the way I have been on a twist and go 100cc with no gears in Corfu.. Picture - - >

and for the record I found it very slow to accelerate, and the acceleration not very controlled.

Ride what you want but always try other bikes before making that final move, I ride my bike on what I judged I liked, not what other people thought, but advice is good and its free, well most of the time...

nah trust me, geared bikes are better, look nicer, more interesting to ride and will make you a better rider anyway. I remember when I went into the yamaha dealers, I was going for a tzr anyway, but I thought may aswell have a sit on an aerox anyway. Bloody hell I thought it was gonna topple over with the stand down!! Centre of gravity is just all wrong(though not on a dna) and I just felt so exposed, felt like it would topple over the first time you tried to go round a bend, so with that I jumped off it and went and bought the tzr.
