Hi, has anyone tried putting a bigger silencer on an rs125 eg. a cbr 600 can. I'm just wondering if it would reduce the performance.

Yes it would reduce the performance, they are that size for a reason.

You'll probably be ok, I rode my derbi senda without a silencer with no problems, and none of that back pressure crap either I rode it without ANY baffles and noticed no difference in performance compared to when it had baffles. It's a small two stroke like the rs125 so I presume the rs will react the same, basically go for it :d or maybe you could make a custom pipe with the standard can inside a bigger can?

Yeah i thought of that as well cause my mate makes carbon cans for bigger bikes so i could fit one inside.

Yes, it is that size for a reason, and a 2 stroke does need more back pressure than a 4 stroke.

you could have a fake one over the top of your proper 2 stroke can if you wanted, just for show

anyone who knows about bikes wd think it was daft tho

getting a proper race exhaust wd be a better idea. I got one off ebay for £100 but they are sometimes on there for just £50.

Please explain back pressure to me as opposed to convergent and divergent waves.
