I got a quote for a staggering £10,600 on a ZX-6R 2005 model. Crazy. I'll be paying in the region of £1,400 for my insurance, no years no claims, garaged, third party only.

At the very least get theft insurance...it shouldn't bump up the cost that much, and so many bikes get nicked! Evil or Very Mad

Yeah, a grand isn't really that much when you consider how much car insurance is. At 17 £1000 would just about get you insured on a 1.3 fiesta that does 0-60 in a fortnight and 0-100 in it's dreams.
