Just a brief Q:

I noticed that when sitting at lights,if the engine temp raised to over 200 degrees F then smoke started coming from underneath the handlebars/near front wheel.

Any ideas why this might be???

What bike?

If it is liquid cooled, it is probably some coolant overflowing the expansion bottle and landing on the exhaust.

Your fan coming on ok?

Gixxer 600 K4. I noticed it was coming up through the space near the coolant holder. Hmmmmm.

Oh, and it has a fan????????? Laughing

Yes, but does it come on when the bike gets hot? I would expect the fan to come on if the bike was getting hot enough for coolant to expand out of the bottle.

A certain amount of coolant overspill is normal when your bike gets hot, it is usually directed straight onto the road (often directly behind the engine) via a bit of rubber hose, this may have come adrift allowing the coolant to drop straight out of the bottle onto your engine/header pipes.

Well i assume so. Confused

I mean- i never noticed to be honest. Anywho- that bikes dead and buried now. Im getting the same in 3 days so if it happens again-i'll check it out! Thumbs Up
