what is the above bike like for reliability? Why do you see in the adverts that they have always had engine rebuilds? That tends to put me off a bit...... Sad

Occasional top end rebuilds are part of owning any 2 stroke, thats why they are designed to be taken to bits easily.

Most of the people who buy Mito's are the type who want to go as fast as possible so they are also the type to mess around trying to tune the engine too. Any tuned 2 stroke is going to have a reduced lifespan.

I used to have a planet, I would say don't buy purely because getting parts from cagiva is a pain in the arse, takes ages.

The planet was great to ride, but extremely unreliable. Maybe if you get a newish one it'll be ok but I'd say the NSR or the RS would be a better option.

poor build quality, expensive parts £50 for one mirror support bracket!!!

get a aprilia rs125, more used parts available, more reliable, did 20,000 kms without needing new rings, second best handling bike of all time according to ride magazine. ahving owned two id say they handle great.

or do your test and get a vfr400 to start off with.

I had the same problem with mine.... the throttle cable snapped twice and its a right pain to change it.

After my experiences with mine, I'd never buy a cagiva again. If I was after a sports 125 2 stroke I'd buy the RS.

Duct tape saved my Mito a lot of the time.

Bloody fast though!

Have a look at one of those italian import TZR's
