The general rule is that if you change the can only, and its position, length and bore dont alter, you're fine. But having it set up on a rolling road will give you peace of mind, and having the dyno graphs will really help resale.

I wouldnt bother slipping just an end can on. Waste of money.

An arrow end can, can be put onto the stock chamber, but you will get no extra performance. It might sound alittle tinnier but adding an arrow end can gives the same performance as the stock can.

Best bet is to get a full pipe. JL is probably the best, the single giving slight more power than the twin. Or if you get a full arrow pipe (although it will more than likely be stamped 'for race use') you will get some extra performance.

Personally I'd go for a JL.

Just put a JL twin on my bike and it looks and sounds amazing.

As for jet sizes, if just adding a can I wouldnt bother re-jetitng, if you get a full exhaust go up to a 122 main, although a 120 main should be ok. Be safer with the 122.

Getting a 34mm carb will help...

On stock jetting, you can fit a whole system without needing to play with the carb. They already run quite rich as standard. Just a can will do next to nothing, an Arrow silencer will just make it sound tinnier and a tiny bit louder than standard.

What you want is a JL end can. Cost about £80 from www.cmpracing.co.uk and look/sound fantastic, very nice indeed. A mate of mine had one fitted to his RS which he's now sold, but here's a picture.

Thumbs Up

The Jl exhaust systems are made of stainless steel i think - none of the italian mild steel rubbish that rusts through. May be a bit heavier, but is hard as nails in comparison.

Apparently, the JL stainless system is the same weight as the mild steel Arrow.

You can also get the JL in mild steel which are meant to be a little bit lighter but as you said, they rust rather quickly in the typical English weather.

After having owned both an Arrow and a JL single on an RS125, The JL is better. (The freshly painted arrow rusted within 3 weeks.) Smile
