16bhp for test?

hi everyone, new on here, need abit of advice, ive had my RS125 for a few months now and im going to soon take my test (i know i know, stupid bike to take it on etc) but anyway, ive heard peopel say the bike needs to be stamped to say its restricted to 16bhp.. its not, but do i need it stamped? any help appreciated, cheers

You may need a certificate to state that its restricted to 13.4 bhp (the largest bhp a learner can have). This is if you are taking your 125 test obviously.

It certainly is, but for some reason 13.4 sticks in my head! Maybe thats the dyno figure for a restricted rs125 or something!!! Don't even know where that number came from, doh! Wink

You might be asked to show them a certificate or where the bike is stamped but I've only ever heard of a few people (on RS125's though) being asked for any proof of their 125 being restricted when doing their test. You should be fine without one.

Even if they do want to see a certificate, I'd expect a bit of headed paper from a bike shop saying it's restricted to 14.6bhp would be okay.

they only get fussy about aprilias, your tdr should be fine, as long as it is not got a really loud exhaust or anything that would suggest its de-restricted.

yeah my bike is 33bhp, so nobody gonna give me a restriction certificate!!! im gonna go down and see about it i think
