Well then it looks likei am going to be moving soon and actually going to have a garden!
not as good as a garage i know but still better that the pavement i have at the mo! so now i am looking to get a decent stand to use on the bike. i want to get both wheels off the ground and the lifting device not to be dependent on the folk/steering head, so that i can work on them if i want to. looks like a abba stand is the way forward, anyone else know of decent stands that you can get that aren't to bulky to store?
Cheers

a proper workshop bike lift will set you back around £500 like this one

l use a 2 ton SWL engine hoist suspended from the garage ceiling which runs along a iron girder to lift the front of the bike up by the frame, but this was built into the structure of my garage so would be no good for most people.
have hear abba/micron stands are quite good and they don’t bend as easily as cheap ebay ones, l my self use a Moto GP one because of its box steel design which is far stronger than the tubleer paddock stands most companies make.
