So after having spent the last 2 summers with my wrist in plaster following a skiing accident last year and surgery to repair the damage this spring, I'm now ready to head off for the weekend on the bike. I've got new tyres on the bike and everything seems alright with the world. Very Happy

Its a really good feeling as there is only a few more weeks before most of the bikes will be off the road here in Finland and we start preparing for the long and very cold winter. (Think 24 hours of darkness for 3 months and -20C --> -30C)
I'm not going to be covering a fantastic distance - just a few hundred miles, but just sitting at work this morning, knowing that I'm leaving at 2.30 this afternoon is a really good feeling. Can't wait!!

Just felt like sharing!! Cool

sorry to hear about you being out for a long time hope that you get some good roads in, i spent a year in finland working for genelec and the summers where amazing! and the roads around koupio and iisalmi where great, though too many trees Laughing
i know exactly that you mean about the winters, its like the whole place shuts down!
anyway have a good trip and remember to take it easy as you won't be as sharp as you once where

I'm riding from Oulu to Vuokatti which isn't too far from Iisalmi, and I'm not planning on going mad. The tyres are still very shiny so this weekend should at least scrub part of them in!!
Also don't want to get a speeding ticket as the fines are based on your salary. So it wouldn't be that big then as I'm not the CEO of Nokia!! Confused but best avoided!!
