When was the last time you went into a petrol station, filled up a tank of petrol, walked in to pay and came back out straight away? For as long as I can remember, whether it be BP, Shell, Tesco Express, Sainsburys, whatever, I always end up having to queue for a good 10 minutes, stuck behind people doing their weekly shop.

Why can they not create a till purely for petrol purchase? I have the cash to pay, serve me, i'll be 10 seconds max! Evil or Very Mad

Yeah, that annoys me, there used to be a decent petrol station where I could walk in and out of within seconds.

Now I am forced to use Tesco's or the Texaco 4 miles away both are full of people buying sweets and snacks and shit and no petrol. Confused

Sunday. Twice. Sorry. Razz Even got a conversation out of the cashier in one of them!

What I can never grasp is the number of people who queue up to pay in Tesco when you can pay at the pump. Never see them coming out with a loaf or anything so what's that all about?

Half the Pay@Pump services are out of order. And by out of order, I don't mean they start swearing at me Wink

Cause they would look pretty silly trying to stuff a £20 note into a pump! Wink

Maybe they are paying with cash. Thumbs Up

I wish we could. I work for the local Tesco station, even working tonight, 8 until midnight. After 10, the doors are locked and you always get people who are too lazy to drive another 200 yards to the shop to get groceries, so I'm forced to run around the shop like a mad man. Recently I'm getting sick to the point I'll say "Tesco is open 24 hours, so please do your shopping there, not here."

I worked all day Sunday and Monday (double time wage Drooling ) and the amount of people who came in to buy everything but petrol was unreal. We had queuing outside the door simply because some awkward sods wanted 3 bags of shopping.

I know what you mean though. Should really recommend it to my manager as it would certainly speed things up. Thumbs Up

Hi

They only run the petrol station to drag you in and buy groceries at the same time Wink .

Local Tesco station to work (opened about 2 years ago) does not have the facility to pay at the pumps.

All the best

Keith

Having been a lazy student for the past three years and getting 350 km so far on this tank (2 gallons Razz ) before reserve, I've been able to pick and choose when and where I fill up. I've not had to queue for as long as I can remember.

It annoys the fuck out of me, especially when they have an armful of snacks, they also want 20 lines on the lottery and are paying half in 2p coins and the rest on the credit card.

I hate that, there is "suppose" to be a fuel and two items only lane but normally I get stuck for ages. I have wanted to have a go and ask why no express lane for fuel but I don't fancy getting banned or arrested for causing a fuss.

Anyway, I'm a courier, I don't have the time to bugger around waiting so I fill up on the way home from a hard days work, no fuss, saves me thinking about it next morning.
