Right i've currently got a Pirelli on the front and a Metzeler on the rear for some reason (previous owner put them on Confused ) anyway.. my rear is worn in the centre due to over 400miles with pillion then over 560miles going to Skye and back..

weird thing is the rear is worn in the centre totally flat and the front is worn both sides just off centre almost flat ?

So what tyres do you suggest that have a good balance of mileage, stickyness, good in both wet and dry?

Sorry if it's been asked before but i did do a search beforehand, the Metzelers don't last that long?? coz i like them.

That's probably the ultimate question, tyre wise. Depends on what you class as "good" in each case? How many miles are you looking for, what would you pay for the tyre etc?

well about 4000miles seems to be about what the metzelers lasted so that's good, around £200, will be using the bike in the wet, carrying pillion now and then, spirited riding almost every weekend but not trackday use.. don't use the bike for commuting or long motorway miles.

Whilst they're fine on a 400, a 600 chews them up pretty quick.

I opted to switch from Bridgestones onto Avons.

Pah get a 400 then! Laughing Wink

I thought they were for all bigger bikes? I thought they'd last pretty well on a 600.

Ah well. Laughing

They work perfectly well on a 600. I used to use BT010's on my GSXR600. However, the BT014's apparently do not last very long if you do any sort of motorway mileage.

So far my Avon Vipers have been excellent.
