What an amazing day yesterday on the above bike run !! Surprised
An experience beyond belief for both myself, and kid pillion.
Thumbs Up
We had never been to something that huge before, and I personally found it exciting, scary, tiring, overwhelming and fantastic..all rolled into one massive ball Wink

I am proud of myself and my aching muscles today, as I did the MOST riding of a bike yesterday that I have ever done since first sitting on one.
VERY proud of my kid too. She was pillion with me every step of the journey Thumbs Up
On Saturday night we biked it down to Essex, which took us just over 2 hours.
Then Sunday morning we were up at 7, and biked it to the run kick-off.
I have never seen so many bikes. They were about 5,000. (There were 4,000 last year, and apparently this year was a lot better turn out).
The actual ride-out of the car parks was the biggest pain. My clutch hand was killing me slow-riding inch by inch, but I got there in the end !!

The actual ride on the roads was WOOOOOOOOOO ! INDESCRIBABLE !!
Hundreds of bikes next to you...all riding in formation, and somehow we all just fell into place. All doing 80/90 side-by-side. Wonderful feeling Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
Cars were the minority..all moving over for you.
Yeah..suckers Wink
*Oh, and I forgot to add..I had brilliant experience of filtering yesterday ! There were a couple of car accidents, traffic, etc.. so all of us filtered down motorways and b roads. All the cars moved over in unison.
I would have said this was due to the sheer volume of bikes, but on the way down to Essex on Sat night, with only our 2 bikes, cars did the same Thumbs Up
Bikes are sure handy Wink

The ride was 2 hours long, and we ended up at Harwich sea front. Lovely sea breeze Sick Mr. Green Nah..it was nice.
I even bought myself a t-shirt to say I had completed the run. How sad am I !!?? Very Happy
After staying there for a short while, we had to set off back home.
We finally got back last night at 10.30pm Neutral
We took a few stops on the way back, as the aching was getting to us a bit.
I had to keep shouting at my kid through the communication system to check she wasn't too tired and falling asleep..but she was fine Thumbs Up
We feel like 'proper' bikers today. We rode all day and did a bike run. All smelly and stuff Surprised

And I am pleased to say...I did not drop my bike once doing a slow manuever yesterday Wink I thank you Mr. Green Thumbs Up

(Anyone know of any bike runs nearby coming up soon ?? I have the bug now. Do you all go to them regularly.. )

I may well do that ! Wink Thumbs Up

Very knackering all that riding, but it is kind of like childbirth.
You soon forget the pain and stress, and get riding again !!

= the achy pain allllll over again Shocked

Mr. Green
