Hi,

Im going away for a day later this week.

Has anyone got any experience of taking their bike to Manchester airport, I won't be taking any luggage apart from my rucksack.

Does anyone know if there is any secure storage for my lid & jacket.

I do have a car, but im worried about traffic , ie its first thing in the morning and its often hell.

Cheers.

I'll tell you this though don't bring a flash car as in airports in the region cars have been taken apart under the gaze of the CCTV cameras.

And no I don't know about the airport but plenty about the city centre and surrouding towns since I usually just chain it and take the train in.

Manchester Airport - Free motorcycle parking under the flyover near Terminal 1 (At owners own risk). Premier Parking, 200 yards east of Terminal 3, offer secure parking at £2 per day (immediately behind their 24/12 manned office). Parking is not available in the multi storey car parks as the barriers do not open with the weight of a motorcycle. Click here for link to airport map.

Do you know if there's anywhere for the gear.

Don't fancy taking my lid to Germany.

Chain it to your bike if you go with the £2 a day option?

If there were any lockers, I am sure they wouldn't be in use at the moment given the light of things.

Also I personally would use public transport to get to Manchester Airport, I certainly wouldn't like to leave my bike unattended for a few days!

I prefer to use the train to/from Manchester airport if there's enough notice to get tickets in advance.
