I know you guys must be sick of these threads, but I need some advice from actual/previous owners.

Here's the deal.

I'll be starting work in 2 weeks, and will be going in for my advanced test as soon as possible.

I want an Enduro bike, and have a few on the list but looking to expand. I would like something that can pull power wheelies but also be able to get a good cruising speed without blowing the engine up (70 mph @ 5000rpm perhaps?).

Here's what i've got so far:

Suzuki DR400

Honda XR400

Yamaha WR400 (not so sure about this one)

At the moment, I'm leaning towards the XR because I really like the looks and Honda have a very good reputation.

The DR looks good because of the rad scoops, but it seems like it's really heavy. It looks very bulky and i've heard things about the fuel tank being very small.

I'm speaking from what i've seen. I've never actually ridden any of these so any advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys!

Mainly for road use, but I might venture into the odd green lane and POSSIBLY a bit of enduro.

Wouldn't buy the wr400, I dont think its even got a key. All of them have got small tanks.

drz400 is meant to be the best for road use. The drz400sm will sit at 70 happily but its geared higher than the offroad versions.

I don't really like the DR400SM, it looks like they've tried to put too much on it. I'd preferably like something a bit skinnier.
