I have just bought some new tyres BT014s and have just finished scrubbing them in.

I was just wondering how long does it take for tyres to warm up to their optimum temperature?

I remember someone telling me that the better the tyre the longer they will take to warm up is this true?

The BT014 have won MCNs tyre of the year so does that mean they are taking ages to warm up?

When i have been riding hard for a long time they feel great and have loads of grip, but i dont know how long after i started riding to start doing KD etc.

Should only be a few miles, ok not full on red hot but plenty good enough for some funky ridding.

My Diablos are KD worthy in a five miles, nuff said

I wouldn't say "the better a tyre is the longer it takes to warm up", it all depends on the compound and the temp at which the tyre is designed to work at.

Still not answered the question there Shocked Laughing

You can ride surprisingly quickly on cold rubber, i only do that if the roads are dry but B road twisties near me are taken at 70-90mph from cold and i have no cause for concern Cool
