Hi, my bike just came back from the garage and had a total bill of 120 GBP to replace a broken gear selector shaft.

I'm wandering would this be covered under warentee?

FYI:

17,000 KM
2004 Derbi GPR
2 Years Warentee
Full Service History.

The bill was:

70 Labour
30 Selecter Shaft
5 Gearbox Oil
5 Anti-Freeze

(and some other un-related things)

Now should this be covered under warentee?

it broke on me on the way home from the garage after picking up a rear brake light switch for it lol, was just going along, went to change down a gear to go over a speed bump and it felt like i'd hit nuetral, then I couldn't get the bloody thing to go in gear easily - it did eventually.

As long as there is no max mileage limit on the warranty and the work was carried out at the garage (as mentioned) you should be covered. If they try to strug you off stand your ground, gear selectors generally dont break after that mileage. If the rest of the bike is clean and in good condition they have no excuse in my opinion.

Small Claims Court!

Any consumer stuff waste no time in taking them to court, it scares them off very quickly.
