Looking at the rear footpegs on the black bike at the bottom. Is the pillion only meant for children?

Excellent. All those cheap 2005 models flooding the market in November as the accountants buy up all the 2006's...

Looks alright - not a fan of those side fairing panels either.

Looks better than the R6 anyway Thumbs Up

The one they'll sell will be indistinguishable from the previous on the dyno anyway in terms of max power ouput. 3 bhp from 160 odd is well within daily atmospheric variation for a dynomometer test. Laughing The cleanliness of the air filter or otherwise could probably make that difference even if they were tested on the same dyno one after the other.

I guess they are really happy with the current generation R1 and have just made a few changes to further improve an already good bike.

I'm surprised they haven't improved the performance though, like the low end power.

Er, no-one. It has been the best selling of the current 1000cc crop and has been winning road tests left, right and centre too.

The US don't get the R1SP, but the R1 LE in the 50th anniversary colours with Marchesini wheels, Ohlins suspension and steering damper and a slipper clutch:
