Wow,

Never thought it would come to moving back to the uk but it has i dont know when but in the next couple of months i will be back in the uk to stay Crying or Very sad Im not sad at coming back i really miss england but I have to leave every thing behind again my comp my bike my jeep every thing. Which means i wont get most of my money till they have all been sold my current balance is about in pounds i'd say 1200 rounding it up as im still working for the next 3 weeks.
Im stuck lol. I really miss england and by the sounds of it my dad will be comeing out at a later date like 2 months after us as his job is screwing him over.

Now this is were a newbie question comes in:

Do i a) by a cg125 do test sell the cg restrict a gixxer/ninja or

b)buy a rs125 and stick with it for a while do restricted test but ride the rs to build up no claims.

Also what bhp has a rs250 got ??

I will have to do my theory and cbt again Sad but i want a bike as a main form of transport as they are best thing for mpg and the fact there cheaper. Yes i have rid in winter and No its not a proplem.

So what bikes are open to me on my small budget and lisence restrictions. Damn it gonna be such a downgrade Crying or Very sad

Budget is say 1200 and i already have all the gear. and i have a full uk driver lis.

16 you can ride any motorcycle although its on a learners permit for 18 months all bikes are open and insurance is fair. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up $1200 for a 16 yr old on a 94 zx6r. No restrictors needed. Im 18 next year i would be paying about $700 for my k5 gix 600

Can be different in some states.

You can ride a 1300 hayabusa if you could afford insurance.

You will have to pay for like a $200 course though to prove that you can ride and thats done on a 500cc buell (mine was). You have to do this course to get your learners permit.

Is there a lot of deaths in the US with kids on big bikes?

Mind cant be that hard to ride in a straight line.

But in answer to your question, get yourself a CG125 pass your test and get something bigger that you can afford over here.

I am 20 and ride a K4 Bandit 600 S and it costs me £265 insurance third party fire and theft. Thats with a 33hp licence and 1 years no claims.

Just have to shop around. If I got something like a ZX9R it would cost me just over £1000 insurance.

I could have paid £600 for insurance if I wasnt such a yorkshire man.

McGee I've heard that the US car/bike tests are a bit 'mickey mouse'. As in, turn right, drive a mile, turn left, stop. Passed!

That about right?

Come over here, either buy a cheap shit 125, or do an intensive course using a learner school's bike.

Do theory, pass test.

Buy bigger bike, but something not too big or you'll never afford insurance, an RS250 makes about 65bhp, and shouldn't rape you on insurance.

When you move back can't you just trade your yank drivers licence for a brit one?

Just tell them you got a full licence while you was out there, whats the chances that they would follow it up?

65bhp? i expected a few more. the old RGV250 did 68, i know it's only 3 bhp more, but think of how old it is. You can definitely get the RS restricted though, i think a user on here my have one.

Hi

RS250 is around 60hp, although Aprilia claimed something like 70.

All the best

Keith.

As the US driving test standard varies from state to state many US licenses are no longer accepted for transfer in the UK and Europe. I know for sure the Florida license can no longer be accepted as a friend has had his turned down

They def wont give me one for my NC lisence Laughing. But i still have a full uk drivers lisence. Which means im stuck on a 125 with L's after i redo cbt etc. then i take my restricted and ride a 33hp bike correct.

rs250 a good bike then or shall i try summit like a gixxer 400/600 restricted, summit likea 96 gix. Maybe even a zxr 600 ??

Some are really awful im talking meter wide potholes lol. Most are really straight unless you go out to the little little towns with populatons of like 15. Other than that there really smooth and nice.

Go for the 600 I say. You're used to 600s and 750s, you will quickly tire of a 250.

Consider that an intensive course for you is probably about 2 days, so you can look at £300 to do it, inclusive of your test fee. Buying a bike won't make much difference, as you've been riding for a while anyway, you just need to get exam technique up to scratch.

I'd say do an intensive, take your test and buy another GSXR. Twisted Evil

CG125s are a typical bike for the intensive course, I believe.

Wait am I being thick here?
Do they give you 125s or a 500 for the test? Embarassed
