 |
|
My bike failed it's MOT yesterday, due to slightly warped brake discs, and binding calipers. Also, the front wheel bearings were apparently a little worn.
So, had to fork out for a new set of discs, pads and bearings for the front yesterday, fitted them last night, and my bike passed it's MOT today!
The discs alone are £400 in the shops, but the garage I got them from had a special offer. £300 for the discs and pads!
Here's the beautys:

90% of the bikes i've known be MOT'ed have 'failed' on warped discs
personally i think its because they are hugely expensive and hard to argue that their not warped. |

Tart!
They are really lovely, however I'd rather you didn't have these because it's going to mean you ride faster, then I'll never have a chance to keep up! ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

Actually it's really strange, but having better brakes HAS meant that I can ride faster!

Yeah - nicely bedded in now.
AMAZING difference in performance. For a start, I get a constant amount of braking force now. Because my old discs were warped and my calipers were binding, they used to pulse. Was OK once you knew it would happen, and learnt to cope with them (still managed a decent stoppie with you on the back) - but these are much nicer. More confidence inspiring.
I can now go full pelt into a corner without the worry of my brakes pulsing the front wheel into a slide. ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon
