I love the VFR but I can see myself spending an awful lot of money on the thing in the next year due to the age and the fact it is an import.
I am keeping it for a while longer though, it is the bike I have always wanted.
If do I change I am going back to my love for enduro’s or motard style bike.
I do very little motorway miles mostly blasting around locally with the odd trip out of town, what I have been told is that these bikes are pants for doing long journeys, but then I was told my VFR wasn’t to good as a distance bike.
If I was going to get one, it would be something like a CCM, Hurusqurgna (spelling sorry, cant be arsed), apparently these machines top out at 80mph (est) even if it is a 650cc.
Is this right?
I mean, some people have to have them as their machine, if you do, or know someone with one could you give me the run down?

I've heard the quickest ones (KTM Dukes, etc) top out at about 95mph, but they're a vibey, uncomfortable bike at those speeds. You'ld want to change your riding to the twitiest of backroads to use full adavantage of the supermoto package.

I remember a year or so ago Bike magazine testing an R1 against a KTM Duke against an RVF over a 6 mile stretch of B-road. The R1 was the quickest; nothing could get near its massive top end (and only needed to use 3 gears!), the RVF was second, 14 seconds behind, then finished the KTM, a further 20odd (I think).

I've stuck with the V4 400s (despite being offered a massively overpriced amount for mine) as I've yet to find a bike that would give me a viable upgrade.
