ok, i want to buy a leather jacket now, something cheapish and not too heavy and it must have some protection.

Also some boots / shoes with a bit of protection a si knwo you shouldnt wear steel toe cap boots.

Basically today i found out i best become fairly safe to stay alive to get into the bigger bikes!

Thank You

FWIW if you can get hold of the current RiDE magazine it's got their Rider Power review which list the best items chosen by those who actually use them.

i got some decent oxtar boots from mmc, lots and lots of ankle protection, think they can be had for a little over £120. Not cheap, but good value considering the level of protection they offered over ones for only £20 less.

i think ive seen the oxstar boots in lamba, mgih go take a closer look, but im liking the alpienstar trainers a bit more, and not bad for £30 Very Happy just need a jacket now Confused

Oh, the alpine trainers will offer bugger all protection as far as I know - of no use when riding a bike.

Try J and S accessories for jackets.

If you want protection, make sure you get a good fit - so a reccomendation from someone else maybe a bad jacket for you.

Just make sure you won't be fooled into buying fashion leather jacket. Choosing motorcycle apparel like jackets, boots also depends on what type of biker you are and what rides you take. So, have an assessment of yourself first and research well before you finally purchase.

Yep, that is a great way to put your local retailer out of business, great idea. Spend the extra few pounds, and support your local dealer. It's hardly suprising you see so many posts complaining about their local retailers going down the pan if they can't afford experienced staff because folks are taking the piss and sourcing the stuff cheaply online from warehouses in the back of beyond. Thumbs Down

I don't mind online purchases, but wasting peoples time is poor form. Personally I'd prefer to see more local dealers, if you need something desperately for a ride, you can hardly buy online then.

Use your local bike shops, you'll need them one day.

Rant over.
