Good day.

We had to wait about an hour for the fog to lift, since the marshalls wouldn't let the circuit go live until they could see all of it, but it later turned into a very warm and sunny day.

Did the usual CBR stuff for 6 sessions, managing to wear a hole in the knee of my rather expensive leathers Doh! and nearly getting taken out by a target-fixated Davo, then borrowed G's SV650 race bike for the last session. I didn't expect to enjoy it (from G's grumblings that it wasn't as much fun as his TRX, and me not liking the TRX) but I actually got on with it rather well. Yes, it feels lacking in power compared to what I'm used to, but I got comfortable on it very quickly and kinda liked the v twin rumble.

Fun. Thumbs Up And harder work than any recent trackdays, due to the complete lack of straight to have a little rest on. I think I'm going to ache like a goodun tomorrow.

There are a few more pics at https://www.evilbendy.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=66 - we didn't actually take many since there wasn't a dedicated photographer, though I think I did see Millsy snapping away a couple of times.

Ta to the usual posse for being good company and pit bitching. Thumbs Up

Out of interest, what were you favourite/least favourite parts of the track?

Going round the large righ hander after the start finish line (I don't know names) I found the best line was actually to go straight over one of the relaid parts. But in between the first two.

Did the left knee go down on the only real left hander? Mine did but just the once.

I love lydden. Looks like you were rocking on the SV aswell!

Bendy's adopting my lines!

EDIT: That pic of you is actually damn good bendy, looks like you're hunting them down. The body position looks good, lean angle looks fairly extreme. Thumbs Up Who else went and how did they find it? Did Mark Teezer it? Did Korn smoto it?

I go just around them, I find they unsettle the bike too much for my liking. Even dragging my knee over them results in a noticeable bump on my knee.

I try and keep it on a fairly neutral throttle, then get on the power fairly hard once it levels out - at some point I had WOT (wide open throttle) on the SV around there.

Bendy, Korn (SM), Jon (SV), Me were there for the day and Davo did the afternoon.

Was a good day. I was a bit worried that the supermoto would be completely owned by the big sportsbikes on the faster bits but that didn't really matter, turns out it could make the ground back up on the brakes and corner entry speed. I was having fun chasing Jon on his minitwin and got down to 50 seconds or so - until the end can exploded. Who ever said the four stroke MX engines have very violent power pulses wasn't fucking kidding!

Bodged the end can back together and went back out, stopped thrashing it as much in case something else exploded but had a great afternoon practicing backing it in to the Devil's Elbow and the hairpin. As well as blowing up the end can the supermoto had melted one of its plastic panels from the heat of the exhaust and completely eaten up the swingarm chain slider, but it was all good fun. I am tempted to try another trackday on it at some point, preferably a circuit with more nice tight corners for going sideways into... that's just so much fun! Very Happy

Damn lydden marshalls and their black flags! I'll get them all!

Some of the supermotos round lydden were very very fast. I like the foot out style, although I had none backing it in.

I liked lydden over Snetterton I think.
