Damn,

Went for a good ride out to some unknown area and got lost as we found out way out it decided to rain something awful i mean HUGE rain drops and soaked the hell out of me.

My question is :

Whats the best way to dry leather?? Neutral

Let it dry naturally, then treat it with some hide food.

If you try to dry it artificially ( on a source of heat etc) then you'll damage it.

You could gently dry the worst of it off with a towel...

Thanks, think i got a cold to Shocked Silly americans. When it rains here its awful we must of had 2-3 inches of standing water all the way back had a few scary moments. New tires i think Wink

hang them up somewhere with plenty of air around them (ie not in a cupboard) and perhaps stuff the insides with crumpled newspaper.

get some liquid nikwax and use that if they get a little crispy (can happen if leather is dried too fast)

On topic dry leather out slowly as said and then put some leather feed into them. An alternative I've often used when caught out in a shower is just keep riding after the rain (admit this whould be difficult and uncomfortable after been drenched through).

I got the writing habbit from my dad yet i got an a/a in english from my gcse's Rolling Eyes But i speak pure british and love my accent once you relise what it can get you!

I prefer loo-tenant, im looking at joining the reserves out here was speaking to a recruiter it seem's worth it. But knowing my luck i would be called up and shot Evil or Very Mad

I am English but I say 'loo-tenant', why the fuck would something spelt 'lieutenant' be pronounced 'lef-tenant'....

its to do with the French and the meaning

heres a quip from a quick wikipedia search

English the word is pronounced lef-TEN-ant, except in American English in which it is loo-TEN-ant. However, the Royal Navy and other Commonwealth navies traditionally pronounce the word as l'TEN-ant, though increasing usage of the usual pronunciation has all but extinguished this version.

In Canada, Australia and New Zealand lef-tenant is standard for all branches of the Armed Forces and for other usages such as lieutenant governor or Quebec lieutenant.

The English pronunciation was prevalent during the 14th and 15th centuries with the word being variously spelled as lieftenant, lyeftenant or luftenant. It may have originated from a mistaken reading of the 'u' as a 'v', lev-tenant eventually becoming lef-tenant. Some sources state that the original French word lieu had an alternative form spelt and pronounced lieuf, and that the modern standard English form retains the former spelling and the latter pronunciation.

It has also been speculated that it may have come from a fanciful etymology which associated it with the verb 'to leave', as the lieutenant only took up his duties once his superior officer had 'left'.

Another theory comes from the fact that in typical propriety the person or persons standing to the rear-left of a gentleman held power and were typically those directly second to him. The person or persons standing to the rear-right were considered to have no or less standing than those to the rear-left, such as aides, bodyguards, wives, etc., often holding this position for simple facility rather than societal importance. This tradition remains in military parades, with lieutenants standing to the rear-left of the commanding officer (when facing the advance.)

If the sun pokes its nose out, just go out and ride in them. Sure it'll be a little cold but just wear plenty of T-Shirts.
