holy shit this is the first death of a really good rider since steve hislop, man i was following his progress through the season, he was doing great, i guess road racing really is the most dangerous type, my thoughts are with his family and friends, and the other riders who he countlessly battled with throughout the season, must be terrible for them aswell Sad

I'm a huge fan of road racing, and to hear of Britton's death is just awful. I never knew him personally, but have friends that did, and they just said what a truly nice bloke he was. I can only take consolation from the fact that at least he was doing something he loved.

RIP, Richard. Hope you're catching up with Joey, Hizzy, DJ and everyone else up there.

Oh christ, thats a big shock.

You just dont expect riders of that calibre (Dunlop, Jeffries etc) to die racing.

RIP

Just home from Ballybunion, very sad, top clas rider and a great bloke, not sure of the circumstances he came off, but it was the first lap of the second race (250cc) before the bikes left I went to see ryan farquar to wish him luck and then to richard to get a t shirt signed. The road surface was disgraceful on the circut, there were 2 injurys yesterday one bad spinal. And this morning the body of a 20 year old man was found on the beach in ballybunion.
All in all a really crap end to the road racing season.

Rest in peace Richard

It's a shame so many die purely to satisfy our collective need for speed. 'Twas probably the way he'd wanted to go, just not so soon. Rest in peace, Mr. Britton.

RIP

I will always think of that photo from BIKE mag of him hugging his little child after the TT with what can only be thought of as a look of relief and think of all them misted hugs and a small boy that’s going to miss his dad.

In the grand scheme of things it not so bad to die doing what you loved I just wished he could have lived doing what he loved.

Sad day

Not nice at all, I am hearing a lot of this lately, I don’t want it to worry me on the road but It does.

Thoughts go out to his family, he will be missed, they know that.
