Hi,

I've just got my first bike - Suzuki GP125. Very old, some say it's an embarrassment but it will do while I'm learning!

My other half is very keen on biking & he's taking me on my first ride out to squires tonight (Wed). I've not met many bikers yet so it will be nice to get chatting this evening, especially with some girls Thumbs Up for a change!!

Please excuse my blonde attitude to bikes so far - I really don't know much and try to ignore the 20mph, wobbly riding - I think I'm gona be one of those real slow learners!

Aimee

Welcome to biking! it's always good to see more riders on the road, and on BCF.

Have a little more confidence in your ability and I reckon you'll be on another bike, ton-up in no time!! Wink I was the worst learner in the world and nearly sold my bike numerous times as I'd convinced myself I couldn't ride for toffee! Still, I took the test, passed, and am still loving biking, 10 years on! Very Happy

Keep the GP125, dinnae sell it. You may think it is crap now but they are an iconic bike of their time. To my knowledge, no one makes disc valve induction 2-strokes any more.

Their simplicity is what makes them cool, you will not realise this for another couple of years. Wink I was the same when I had my 125, thought it was crap and had to get something faster. Wish I hadn't sold it now.

Plus, with the price of fuel these days, a vehicle that will do 100mpg is a handy thing to have.

If you want any advice or help with the GP125 then ask me, just about to strip and rebuild mine.

As Stinkwheel said a great little bike with a slightly strange engine arrangement. Makes for very easy maintanence and a good power to weight ratio. It weighs around 90kg's or less I beleive.

P.S. Stinkwheel. I'll have my GP125 for sale next summer if you would like it. I also have a Superdream 125 (the restricted version, comstar wheels etc) that is in pieces (pretty much all there) awaiting restoration if your itnerested. Located in London but if you or anyone else wants it they can have it. Another future classic.

welcome

And don't worry about what bike you have...at least you have a bike and not a scooter!

no question is a silly question so just ask, also make use of the search facility as very often the topic has always been covered. I would also suggest you flirt and post pics as us men are suckers for that sort of thing Laughing
