Hi; I'm still on the hunt for a 250cc that I can use on the road and occasionally off-road. I'm getting very confused with all the letters that accompany the numbers Embarassed

Anyone heard or had experiences of said bike; I think it's a 2 Stroke so should I stay clear of it?

Many thanks,

Phil

Sounds about right for what you want.

I was looking at those as well as the CRM and RMZ - they all have decent power for the road, but not the stupid service schedules of the 'proper' off road bikes.

Thanks G: what sort of servicing will I be looking at? Will the fact that it's a 2 stroke make things more complicated?

Servicing will be easier, but more frequent.

I expect rings every 10k miles or so and maybe piston + top/bottom end bearings every 20k. Not too sure on that though - either one shouldn't cost too much to get done at a garage as it's fairly simple. Just a guess on that, though.

2 strokes are easier/cheaper maintenance wise Smile

Most KDX's were 200 or 220 cc. My dealer (bike dealer that is Laughing ) however has a KDX250 and said its a Japanese or US import, you wont see many here, if you have found one, snap it up!

The KDX is a 2 stroke clubman/enduro tool, I don't think there is autolube so you will need to mix the fuel and oil. I think its quite a tough little bike, my mate has a 220 and he did a rally in morocco (he was the only 2 stroke) said it didn't let him down once.
