My helmet has a few scuffs etc and could do with a general tidy up, would a good T-Cut do any harm?

Doesn't T-Cut contain ammonia? I'd rather not put that on my lid, it could weaken the shell or be absorbed into the polystyrene and degrade it. Same reason you shouldn't paint it or put stickers on it.

if it's a fibreglass helmet be fine but not if it's a polycarb. You can't even fit non factory stickers on a polycarb helmet their that bad. Polycarb will leave a line on the top of the helmet front to back from the mould.

'Shift-it' do a helmet polish. I use it every couple of weeks and my 12 month old gloss-black Shoei still looks like new. Although it's easier to keep them looking good than to get them looking good Very Happy

Yoshimoto purple helmet polish hides minor scuffs and cratches, its about £4 for a tin that seems to be endless... Personally I wouldn't use T-cut, doesnt it wreck plastics?

Yes, that's why they tell you to test it on a small un-noticeable area first.
