A friend of mine from Belgium pointed it out to me yesterday.

His words, "aint that the lad who blew his KTM up while doing wheelies to the limiter?" Laughing

Pretty cool though. Thumbs Up

Woohoo I'm famous Laughing

I wheely high enough to not blow it up now, but got a new danger of flipping it now Laughing wish I had a camera on me this evening as I almost scraped the plate (accidentally) thank fuck I cover the rear brake Laughing

I almost wheelied into a wall too Confused Very Happy I was kneeling on the seat at the time though, they're scary shit Surprised

John descibed one wheely I did as going to '11:30' Confused - really need to sort out some instincts for the rear brake, only use it when I'm intentionally thinking about it.

Do you conciously cover the rear brake every wheely? Try using the rear brake to bring wheelies down early to get used to it?

No, but do make an effort in quite alot, but that takes a bit of my concetration away for others.
Do use the rear brake to bring it down at points, but usually trying to keep it going for as long as possible Smile.

Make concious effort to cover rear brake every single wheely.. I never used to cover rear brake but one day just "made" myself cover brake and now I do it instictively and don't concentrate on it.

Sometimes you gotta go back to basics before getting better.. like today I started kneeling on seat, it's like learning all over again Laughing Surprised

I do make an effort a lot of the time. However the TRX is relatively not that great for wheelies (only a bit less power than your bike, but getting on for twice the weight probably).

The problem is the road I've been doing it on is quite bumpy, so having trouble keeping it from wobbling side to side, meaning I'm concentrating on that.

Want to get to a decent place and pratce pulling it higher then tapping the rear brake straight away to get used to both the height and using the brake.

Yeah smooth, wide roads are much easier to work with. Smile

The thing I found with covering the rear brake is you have to get used to having your feet on the pegs differently, with the heel rather than the ball of your foot being on the peg. Once you get used to having your foot in that position and practice using the rear brake to bring the front back down it builds muscle memory and you should develop a reflex for using it without having to think about it. I'm a bit slack about doing this on the YZ though, because the engine braking is usually enough to bring it back from the brink... Embarassed

Same thing goes for changing gear during a wheelie, get your feet in the right place and do it enough times and your muscles will remember the exact amount of movement needed and it becomes instinctive.
