Thinking of heading up to Mallory for a trackday because it's (fairly)cheap and (fairly) local.
My favourite track is Cadwell, and i wonder if Mallory will be a bit dull/unchallenging.
Any suggestions?

I've never ridden Mallory, but I guess you could argue that its a fairly boring track with the only allegedly decent bend being the hairpin.
Cadwell is by far the best bike track around, so if you've already ridden it, you'll have been spoilt Smile

Mallory is a great track!
"only allegedly decent bend being the hairpin" your joking, right?
How about Gerrads the fast (around 100mph) long right hander?
Devils elbow is a good left hander after the bus stop chicane.
Mallory is not as challenging as Donington or Cadwell(and yes i've raced and done trackdays at both) but it is great fun.

Best track around? That would be Donington then! Razz

Don't forget, Mallory has the fastest corner in the country. It's on my list of tracks to do at some point.

Cadwell is a true riders track, Donny is a good place to learn and Oulton Park is awesome once you have learnt it (which takes ages to learn it properly)

Mallory is the only track i've been round, good points are as its a short lap time it is easier to see improvement in cornering because its not long till your back at the same corner.

Gerrards is a fun corner, very wide too and the hairpin which is nice and tight!

Only bad points i would say are can be boring as its short and i don't like the bus stop chicane (as i'm slow through it Embarassed )

Have a go and i hope you enjoy it Thumbs Up

Be careful studying the Mallory Park Video!

When watching, after the start straight and the long bend are over, you are going down a straight before a fast right left section (the Esses). Well, this has changed in recent years!

After Gerrards ( the long, fast right hander) there is the straight, which is shoorter and leads into a chicane, going left first! This leads out onto the Esses.
