Like the title, if your thinking of going tomorrow DONT

There are VERY few bargains to be had and you wont save enough money to warrent the entrance fee.

Most things are near full RRP or near enough cheap internet prices.

If you want some kit spend £3.50 on RiDE magazine this month and look at the rider power survey and there is usuially the place to get the items cheapest there.

There is some cheap gear but its all cheap crap thats not worth the "discounted" Price if you value your skin and bones.

I went there wanting allsorts of bits and pieces, it was all crap and a waste of a day.

AVOID PEOPLE

Spend the day doing anything else!

But Sunday is the bargain day, when sellers don't want to pack the stuff up and lug it away...

BMF: British Motorcycle Federation. They arrange two big shows/rallies every year. The main one is in May and the "tail-ender" is this weekend. The main one is massive and a good place to pick up bargain, but the tailender is much smaller.

Depends what you want from the place, I had a good day out, watched a few of the arena "turns" - stunting, vintage speedway etc AND picked up some proper bargain bits and pieces. Thumbs Up

I went yesterday, got to say the title 'Show' was little dissapointing, unless I missed it there were not very many bikes on 'show', a few gazebo's scattered around with different clubs hiding underneath, but no fields of chrome ~ Thumbs Down

I watched the classic speedway, the guys trying to do wheelies on the quads, and the moped racing (funny as....).

They should have called it the BMF Tail End Shopping Weekend, because all it was was a glorified motorbike shopping trip, I did get some good bargains though including some parts for the new bike Smile

A good day out, but dissapointed about the amount of bikes on 'show', you'd be better walking round the car park.

We went yesterday, and are returning today Thumbs Up
Last years was better, I must admit, and I concur that the number of show bikes were few.

There are still LOTS of bargains to be had though..especially the Shark helmets and Frank Thomas Leather tents.

The speedway is as funny as ever...watched from the bar with a pint in hand of course Laughing Wink

Agree on the FT gear. Its poor.

There were some savings to be made, if you were looking to buy that item anyway.

For me, a 4 hour round trip to buy a £10 T-shirt I could have got online is a lot of money.

I only saw 1 stall selling Scottoilers (Busters IIRC)- which is what I was after. £65 though, not much of shop RRP really.

Well I was after 3 sets of tyres and the prices the people wanted were the same as I can get them at my local place.

Really was not worth the trip...

yep did a 80 mile round trip, didn't have any thing I wanted (unless you were looking for a 1982 CB400 broken frame)

there wasn't even any bikes to look at as such, just customized stuff all chav'd up or XYZ motorcycle club with their impressive display of a 1987 purple CBR600 and Honda MT50 Laughing

There was some bandits with shit bolted onto them...sorry "streetfightered".

(i was looking at this faired bandit and thinking how my standard one looks way nicer)

Waste of time and money. Sad

Well I went to Ally pally and the BMF show(on the saturday) and to be honest BMF pissed all over ally pally. The main reason was it was outside and less cramped. As for bargains and people whinging about the lack of, you obviously weren't looking hard enough. I ended up with a "seconds" official triumph leather jacket that tbh is not a second for £30. Things like motrax discklocks for £3 or "hard as F**K" chains for a tenner, the padlocks naff but still a nice chain. As for bikes, I guess it was a bit lacking but however still a wicked show and I will most certainly be going next year with a bigger wedge saved up:)

I agree that it's a good idea to maybe save up your hard earned and get what you need for the year at the 'show' just don't expect much entertainment, or many bikes.

We did a 200 mile round trip to go, glad we went and will prob go again, just wish they'd put more effort into the 'show' part, and perhaps a little less in booking retailers (Ker~Ching)

Well dods...fuk all wrong with Frank Thomas.
I love my leathers, which I have had for a while now. Thumbs Up

Just got back from todays show, day 2, and I got a lot of nice stuff..some bargains..some not.
I got, for example, some Grinfactor tops which were the same price as the website, but I still got them. They were there at the time. Convenient. I could see the sizing etc,.. And yes, I had to pay a tenner to get in..but I can afford it. If you can't afford to go to a show looking for a bargain and pay a tenner..don't.

I also got a pillion non-slip seat cover for the bargain price of a tenner. Also some bike cleaner I had been looking for which I had seen in MCN at half price.

The other half also got some stuff he wanted from Oxford (GOOD bargains with them today!!)

My kid enjoyed the bike jumping, as it happens. I guess it is hard to please all eh ?? Wink

At the end of the day, we had a good day. Better than sitting on your stingey arse

I just got back from the BMF tail end and a great weekend. I bought a spare new full face helmet for 20 quid, gloves for 15 and some decent leather trousers for 30 quid, and some other bits and bobs, including a secong hand Gear lever for my SV from one of the autojumble stalls which cost me 15 quid. I have been trying to buy one from ebay for a week and they go for more than twice that!

Some of my other friends from sheffield have also bought clothing and stuff and one of us bought a mini moto for his brother. For all of us it was well worth going. The site is well run and there was an army of cleaners and litter pickers.

The only let down of the whole weekend was how cold it became on friday night. And the only improvement for my liking would be better bands, or maybe more tents of different bands.

Yes there is its cheap crap gear, been there bought that found it to be complete crap compared to the hein gericke stuff which wasnt that much more, but the quality and guarentee far superior!

The BMF was crap this year, there was next to fuck all there, the only "bargains" was cheap crap which I would rather pay more for quality, its only a bargain to me if its good.

The 2 places selling tyres wanted pretty much RRP for them and I wanted 3 sets! not willing to do a decent price so I thought bollocks to that!
