T-Cut is good but to give it that showroom finish you really need to use silicon spray Smile will cost you a couple of quid from your local bike shop ps dont spray it on your exhaust it tends to smoke quite a bit if heated which aint a good thing when you come to a set of lights Smile

a paint brush and parrafin for cleaning the wheels!

works great!!

once finished just give it a quick wash off to get rid of any residue!

as for a nice show room shine on the paint work!? try a turtle wax type product and loads of elbow grease

Laughing so zim, are you seriously recommending pouring petrol over our bikes? What if you fancy a smoke whilst you wash it? Laughing

For the wheels, WD40 is amazing. Use the straw and spray a little bit on as you are turning the wheel. Dont put too much on or it dribbles down onto your tyre. Get an old rag or summut and all the grease just wipes off! Trust me, my rear wheel had 3 years of shit all over it, and 5 minutes with a cloth and some WD40 transformed it.

For the bodywork, try Holts Motorcycle Wax Polish from Halfords.

petrol is good, also hammerite oven degreaser- comes in a plastic spray bottle thing like for spraying plants and cost a couple of quid. i spray some of that on the back wheel, leave it 5 mins, then jet wash it all off.

for paint work nothing works better than cutting compound to take those stains away. After this use a wax to give it a longlasting shine.

Will look brand new for a couple of weeks and will also be easier to clean and keep clean!! Smile

Nah, you're all wrong Twisted Evil

Raid your mum's cream cleaner for the wheels.....gets any tar etc etc off an absolute treat, and makes them shine - with a bit of elbow grease - rinse off with a hose.

Paintwork - I usually use Ultragleam paint improver stuff then a polish - nice and shiny - no water marks. Lovely!! Smile

I use T-Cut for the paintwork, every 6 months. Gets rid of any tiny scratches.

For cleaning, I just use Zipwax and Autoglym motorcycle cleaner. The Autoglym is amazing (but expensive). I spray it on all the hard to reach fiddly bits.

To finish, I use Mr. Sheen with a clean duster for everything; the screen, the tank, and fairing, and it brings everything up to a showroom finish. As for the wheels, I use WD40. Dont spray it on direct, but onto a cloth and apply to your wheels. I don't like the sound of using petrol, everyone knows that gettin that on your rubber is sooooo dangerous! As for the WD40 its just as bad, so be careful not to get it on your tires. WD40 is deffo better because it repels water. As previous posts suggests, if you don't want to use WD40, Mr. Sheen works just as well.

BTW, dont jet wash your bike, you'd be totally bonkers if you do.!! Nothing wrong with a standard garden hose.

so nah Razz
