It's a biggie so expect the worst. Prob gonna be new shims, valve clearance, chain and sprocket(pos), brake fluid(again pos), brake pads, clutch plates, engin oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs.

Then again it might just be the last 4 things. It all depends on how you have looked after it, the more you abuse it the more it costs.

I always thought valve clearances were generally done at 16,000 mark?

There isn't a 21,000 mile service on a CBR600.

16k is valve clearances etc, 20k is just the usual change the oil and check stuff, 24k is coolant change.

.

Well the last one was done at 17,000 when i bought it, and its now on 21,000 so it needs a service either way, just wanted to know whether it was a big one or not and as the only other bike ive had serviced has been a 125 how much can i expect to pay (if its just a small one/ or a major one) just a very rough estimate would be great

Thanks Thumbs Up

Find out if the valve clearances and shims where done at 17k. If not you could be anywhere between £200 and £400 in some cases I've heard. I'm 2k miles away from getting mines done.......eeeeek!

Minor service cost me £50 just there!! All new fluids, oil, oil filter, chain adjusted, lots of other wee bits and bobs...can't complain.

Minor service you should really be able to do yourself.

If you don't have the service schedule then buy yourself the Haynes for your bike cos it lists the breakdown of what needs doing at which service.
