Hi

I was thinking of adjusting the RC valves of my NSR125, so I had a look in the Haynes manual. I followed its directions, but I couldn't seem to reach the valves. Do I have to take the whole engine off the frame to make this adjustment??

Thanks

no , but if you start the whole process , you need to take off all fairings except back sides , tank & air box , radiator and open the base guide cover on the right side of the barrel .
look at the joined pict if your cables have the same position as describe on my file (download it https://www.geneva-racing.com/~alains/NSRtips.doc )
you can adjust also by this way :
- take off the air box , key on for 2 seconds then key off
- on the right side you will see the servo pulley . undo the screw on top (without moving the pulley) , and with a screwdriver used as a lever , lift it up .
- take off the right cable , refit the pulley without screwing it
- look the sharp notch position on the pulley (it must on "hi")
- now pull by hand the right cable and observe if the left cable pull a bit further
- if yes use the adjuster on the cable

There is no manual for the NSR125, but for the NS125R. The bikes have the same principles, just minor differences such as the carb. I find this manual helpful when working on my NSR, it seems the two bikes have a lot in common, but then I'm no NS125R expert Laughing
