Rolling Eyes More weird new bikes.

Why have they stuck the Aprilia logo so far up, where the fairing twists? It looks bizarre, and it wouldn't cost anything to put it a bit further down.

What's up the the front mudguard? Looks weird.

And what is up with the brake discs?! Shocked

65BHP from a 450cc V-Twin isn't bad going considering Suzuki only get that from a 645cc.

Smile

All in all very nice, can't wait to see the RSV450R.

Depends what state of tune it's in.

450cc mx bikes can fairly easily make that with some tuning I believe (not sure on exact figures).

Also, 180 section on their supermoto? Sounds excessively big for the sake of fashion.

Yeah, sounds very excessive. I have a feeling it may be fairly heavy as well, so loses appeal, though not that big of a deal on a softer 'road' supermoto I suppose. Do like the idea of an RSV450R though Cool

Most 400 4 cylinders don't make that much, so from a V-Twin isnt bad

Plenty of tuned 400s are making getting on for 80hp and this is from a 15 year old engine design often.

So, it does depend how tuned they are - competition mx bikes are usually in a lot higher state of tune that road sports bikes as standard.

The 180's they will be using are SM specific, like the new Conti, they weigh less than normal road 180's cos their designed to carry a lighter bike, the profile is different as well.
The 450 SVX is by far the best current 450SM in the market, the 550 will be awesome. The 450's already won the World Championship in it's class last year.
Their going to cost in the region of £7000 btw.

yeah race tuned 400's do make more power, but making 70bhp from a 450 twin means its not in a stupid state of tune, but it making a fair bit of poke allready.

Personally i can't wait for what is basically going to be a 'new' sports 400 style bike with modern handling, radial brakes etc Very Happy
