has anyone used one of these, looks interesting. Good idea if it does the same job as those 30/40 quid kits with the pneumatic gun you use to pump it all out. I'm tempted t buy it if it works, rather put that money towards a proper kit if it's a waste of time this thing:

I've got ALOT of air in my system and i'm feeling giddy from trying to suck it all out

"Brake bleeding assistor kit utilises a compact unit with 1-way valve and connector hoses that simply attach onto the bleed nipple. When the nipple is open and brakes bled, the unit
prevents air and old fluid from being pulled back into the system, freeing the user from having to repeatedly open and close the bleed nipple."
From what I can make out your brake is abit like the pneumatic gun (just keep pumping the brake lever). I think? ____________________ -=[Sam/b]=- cx500's the only way to travel, we do it in style just like jimmy saville

Might work but a mate and a rake of fluid is better.
I bought a Mity vacuum pump from Hieneous Gerrike. Shite.
Then I saw it advertised in a scudbook as part of a knob enlarger.
Yuk I threw it away fast. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

lol, what is in them halfords kids do you know? as far as i can see it's just a bottle and a tube which I already have, their doesn't appear to be anything to pump it out with.
I've given up sucking it out now because i've gone all light headed but i've spent over an hour doing it the normal way, pump the brake, hold it in, loosen the nipple, tighten back up then repeat.
the fact that the banjo nipple isn't at the top anymore isn't helping but i've just tilted it whilst still on the disc so the nipple is higher up now (slightly better).
shall i be a gimp and buy the expensive pneumatic one from halfrauds then take it back within 30 days (nah, too much hassle).
you can see it's lower down than the original (snapped) bleed nipple making it hard to get air under it:

Yes i have one and yes its great, used it many times..
They seem pircey for what it is but it makes bleeding the brakes a 5minute one person job.
Clip it on, undo the nip, squeeze lever while feeding in fluid, when youve gotten the older mankeyr looking stuff out close nip, take off tube, thats it, put your tube and valve somewhere safe.
Theres no need to have it in fluid, just point the tube at a jar for old fluid and thats it. ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |
