Hi people my mate has just bought a aprilia habana custom 50cc scooter and it will not run for anymore than about 5 minutes at a time and after that time it seems to backfire and then cut out it was fine when we picked it up and i rode it back from haywards heath for him but when we were about 5 miles from home it started this backfiring just wondering if any of you guys have any clue as to what is up with it.
Put a new plug in it and cleaned the carb didn't check the ht lead though.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Nige

Problem on these is the plug cap iirc. The cap needs a plug with with the extra bit on the threaded part that goes into the plug cap but the plug it needs doesn't have one so the orginal bit gets reused over and over. Change the plug cap for an NGK type and it may help.
