tell your friends about there bad driving ?

I have a friend who is such a shit driver, when following him he would cut right hand corners so much that over half his car would be over the white line and would swing out for parked cars onto the other side of the road, i explained to him that if i were coming around the corner the other way he would hit me and if a big truck came around the corner it would be him that would be hurt, also pointed out that if he swang out like he does for parked cars there would be the same effect that he would hit the oncoming car/bike, he then went on to say that he was a good driver etc

Me explaining that if another biker gave me tips etc i would take them on board as i know that there are alot of more experienced bikers than me and am happy to get all the advice i can.

Got me thinking that once car drivers pass there test they do not make a concious effort to become a better driver whereas most bikers do ??

I try not to.

I have some mates who are terrible drivers, but I just let them get on with it, unless I feel really uncomfortable or I think they've done something dangerous to someone else. Almost every time I'm out with mates they scare the shit out of me to be honest.

When they go pillion I usually get my own back, I cant hear them screaming.

Depend's who's telling me, and what I thought of thier riding. Obviously, when I go out with alot of my IAM friends, I take nearly everything on board (somethings I struggle with so I have to just try to keep in mind) but when a 'ped boi' starts trying to tell me I should be wheelieing this way or that...

I regularly slate my mate, who drives an old type civic. He dont listen though... and that realy irritates me. The fact that he does put other at risk constantly and doesnt realise it...

He simply replies with "Yeah, but ive seen you doing 90+mph on the parkway, and cutting through the traffic" ... The difference being, i can do it safely, and will watch other riders and gain knowledge from them and what they tell / show me. Where as my mate just tries to slate me back. Fair play i aint the best rider in the world, but i aint the worst by a long shot. And i take all the advice i can get.

Eg. when i went down to 'The Wheel' a while back with R4nger... he followed me for the first 30 or so miles, when we stopped he laughed at me for tailgating too much... now im barely ever closer than 10m from the back of any car / vehicle.

Thumbs Up

I tell them as I would like to be told if im riding wrong.
That way we stay alive and have fun longer.

On ride outs with my mate we stop, have a cuppa and discuss the rout, where we could have been better and so on,
I tell my mate all the time about how he takes corners,, ok on a race track but hes almost had his head taken off a few times.

as for slipping the finger to people who tell you where you went wrong, thats just silly imo.
Thats the reason I did a bikesafe course,,, so i could improve on where I was going wrong.
