Hey gilera DNA 50 prob hear took the bowl of the carb changed main jet put it back together. Then i know i have to kick is for missions to make the fuel fill up into the bowl so kept on kicking it 5 minuts go by and it just dosent want it. I also see in the fuel line that there is no fuel there but i still have like half a tank.

This has happend to me before on my dna but we got it started in the end but it took missions. So why has it done it, do i have to bleed my fuel????

I aint a clue can you even get bleeding of the fuel, i also have put back in the orignal jet that was in there bfore it all cocked up.

Any one got any ideas?

Thanks

Hit it with a hammer...

Or that is one possible solution (see below).

Remove the fuel line from the carburettor. Is there loads of petrol pishing out? Good, that is what is supposed to happen. If it isn't then either there isn't enough petrol in the tank or the filter/tap is blocked/malfunctioning. I am assuming they don't use vaccuum fuel taps on mopeds? (there would be two hoses coming off the tap if they did).

If your carb has a drain screw at the bottom, try opening it. Is there loads of petrol pishing out? Good, that is what is supposed to happen. If it isn't then you may have inadvertantly changed the float height. In order to avoid a 'mission' whatever one of those is, don't mess with this yourself unless you know what you are doing. Could also be a blocked needle valve which would need blasting through with some compressed air.

If no fuel is coming out with the drain screw open, the floats could also simply be sticking. Tapping the side of the float bowl gently with a hammer can free them off again.

At last it takes 3 posts for someone to help a 16 year old on a scooter out because thats what hes only allowed to ride at this present time but if a biker with a 600 had the same prob he would probaly get much more feedback and response, yes people on hear probaly dont know much about scooters that dont me your little pea head mind has to just block up the thread, just safe it.

Makes you wonder why so many scooter riders go to cars because half the bikers abuse and take the piss out of scooter riders making the scooter riders feel intimated and just say fuck it i aint going to be a biker they are all pricks.

So for once just think before you post and got to the flames section and dis scooter more, have fun.

Oh and thanks for the answer stinkwheel at least someone on hear has some credit for scooters

Guess again. When anyone talks shit I tend to rip into them regardless of what bike they own.

If you want an answer write a question that we can understand, you know how it is us old people just don't understand the way you youngsters talk.

And I didn't dis your scooter I diss'd you. I don't really give a shít what you ride but when I come in here to help people it's really nice and helpful to understand what the fúck they are saying.

Anyways, Firs things first, to elliminate air lock - Fuel line SHOULDN'T need bleeding, but if it does all that means is position the fuel tank so that the fuelline goes straight up from carb to tank - ie: remove tank and lift it up above the bike - so that air isn't trapped in the line. All air in the line should rise up and into fuel tank. If problem still exists find out if fuel is leaving the tank. Disconnect fuel line that runs from tank to carb at the carb end. If petrol doesn't flow out the end of that pipe, u could well have a blockage in your fuel tank. Drain all petrol out of tank into a petrol can, and flip tank upside down with the cap open and give it a shake... make sure no comedians have dropped anything in there... then blast compressed air up the fuel line.

If problem still exists...

Remove carb, remove it's float bowl. Blast the carb thru with compressed air; remove, rinse in petrol and blow thru all jets then pop em back where they came from. Easiest to do one by one so you don't mix em up.

I must admit that the above phrase is a strong contender for the "Unintelligable patois of the day." award.

Ok I can understand where you old folk Wink are coming from. I will turn down the "txt chat", the reason the text was like that was because I had just copied and pasted the text from a scooter forum.

I would just like to say thankyou for all your suggestions and have now got the bike running, what i did was:

Cleaned the whole bike up, carb, fuel lines, fuel pump, tank etc

Tried starting: No Sucess

Then I pured petrol into the carb seeing if i had damage or blown the bore, kicked her over and she started up as expected but then loads of petrol come out of the exhaust I think this is probaly because i poured loads of petrol through the carb and the petrol just went right through the system.

But then fuel was through the fuel line, from the tank to the carb, so to end this beautiful story, DONT MESS WITH YOUR BIKE MARTDAMAN!

Thankyou Again and i am sorry in advance if any spelling, grammer is wrong in the above passage.
