i'm in the process of rebuilding my little CG

i had the engine on my work bench with both covers off the sides of the engine, i think i must have moved the gear selector when the cases had been off as now the engine is back in the frame i can not turn the selector shaft

it was working fine before i removed the engine

anyone any ideas>?

this is my first bike

It's fairly hard to get the selector forks in wrong, have you got the shift drum back in the right way around?

Karma hi dude,

so you removed the eng side cases ( flywheel cover on lhs and clutch cover on rhs ) but did not split the crankcase to show the g/box and crank internals????

you do know about cmnsl and the exploded views etc??

with eng back in frame you can not select a gear?

doers the gear selector shaft ( the shaft that the gear pedal fits to ( the pedal operated by your foot to, change gear??)) move up and down ( sprung loaded to return to middle position )??

or is it so stiff it dont move att all??

some photos would be good. Very Happy

i didnt touch any gear parts, all i did was removed the case covers (to get polished)

then when i was removing the paint of the rest of the engine i think i have moved the selector shaft

yes all i did was remove the clutch cover off an sprocket cover - then i layed the engine on its side as i was removing paint off the case. when i came to put the clutch side case back on, it woudlnt fit - the reason for this was the selector shaft had been pushed up (as the engine was resting on that side)

so i lifted the engine up straight an the cases went back on with out any issues

refitted engine an now the gear shaft doesn't seem to want to move up or down.

i will try an take a video/ pictures tonight

CMSNL have this drawing but its for a later bike, im guessing its basically the same

thanks for the help Karma
