Just always do an HPI check if you want to buy it, as they're probably the most commenly stolen bikes in the country. Food for thought!

I know nothing about recall issues but i had a test ride on a £2500 98 r1 today and it was amazing.

I didnt go fast but the power was great and its so agile and responsive. Turns exactly how you would want. Far more agile than similar age 600's I have ridden.

Much better than anything I have ridden so far.

I checked the engine number and chassis number against the ones on the v5.

I suppose it would be possible to forge a v5.

The gearboxes are terrible on early ones. If you ride hard it will seize.

I dont think many people are gonna ride an r1 hard, as they have so much power.
