You haven’t heard?!
The DT is a lovely machine mate, um, the 125 is anyways, I’ve always hated the standard ones, they are so tame.
The ride is not too stiff and it is has nice handling.
They are quick with the Dep full system.
Maintenance is piss easy.
Fuel consumption is superb.
You should have any major problems from one that has had a good home.
TBH there isn’t a lot you need to know about, avoid the early 90’s ones.
Had to post a pic of my 04 machine
Edit:- Sorry forgot to mention, with the DEP system installed you should hit 80-85mph, I’m sure.
Oh and that is the DTR not DT ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

They were 12bhp restricted but I have a feeling they might now be 16bhp. Derestricting them brings them up to 22-24 bhp, different tail pipe might give a bit more. They are pretty quick once done. I think restricted they are good for an indicated 70-75mph expect an indicated 90ish when derestricted depending on wind and how "chunky" you are
There are several postings if you search on how to derestrict them, it depends on the year and model. |

| Quote: | Id take a DT125 or KMX over a sportsbike 125 anyday of the week, as they do generally seem tougher, stronger and more reliable. The plus point of being able to have extra fun off road, is also another reason why a trailie could be better than a sports 125. |
couldn't agree more, plus if you drop them there is no faring to worry about. When I was leaning I had a KMX 125 minus restrictor, fantastic bike.....
| Quote: | Has anyone ever ridden a DT200R? I just wonder how it would compare to the KMX/MTX |
MTX200 is very old and rare, only put out about 20 bhp, think it only had front drum as well. DT 200 is an import, never seem one but like the sound of it, I had a KMX 200 as well, 30 BHP, really shifted, lovely bike, only problem with it was it had a 17" rear wheel rather than 18" which limited the choice of back tyre. Wish I had kept the KMX 200..... |

Another person who's owned one of the most fun to ride bikes out there! My latest 200 is still in bits, but ive cleaned up whats left of the piston, and im going to make a pen holder out of it mainly cos im bored lol!
The MTX125 was 20bhp (full power) i think, but the 200 was 27bhp AFAIK, and so that would be a bit more fun i would imagine!
Iv'e seen a few DT200R's mainly in Greece, but ive always wanted one, as the 125 is such a nice bike the 200 version must be a belter! |

Great bikes. Will do an indicated 60mph restricted (thats what mine did..) About 80 de-restricted.
I paid £900 for mine, 2004 model, with 1500 miles on it, in VERY good condition for the price i paid.
Then 4 weeks later it was nicked while i was at work. |

If you live in south london, get luck getting insured for TPFT! For my XR in north london, nobody would quote me for less than 1300! So my theory is get a cheap DT and insure TPO only! Funilly enough they're just as expensive or more expensive to insure if you're doing general insurers. Give motorcycle direct a buzz ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1
